Hey guys what's up. I went sliding recently and broke the driver rear axle on my 93 hatch and I wanted to know if this had happend to anyone and what you recomend me to any site, brand, and how do they do under the pressure's of drifting/auto x etc. I'm thinking about changing all four axles now due to one not being strong enough I can only imagine any of the other three wanting to give out. Thanks guys

Joe

Gonna change all 4 eh? Well that'll be kind of tough seeing that the car only has 2 axles. Go to your local parts store and buy a set of new or rebuilt axles. If you arent running massive hp numbers stock equivalent axles will do just fine. Hell, I've been drifting a 400 HP SR with stock axles and never broke one, still have the original 1989 axles.

All four are going to be realllllyyyy hard to find seeing as the only 240's with 4 axles are the rb26dett AWD conversion swaps. But if that was just a typo the nico sponsors have everything you need. They are on the right side of the page>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Good God, you have an avatar with children laughing at FWD, and you don't even know what's going on with cars and axles.

Ugh...

^ thanks. What razi is saying is true, but. honestly I barely know simple things and I just learned what a piston and cylinder was. Regardles of me having a more than a few years of driveing I just have no knowledge of what does what, I don't wanna put myself out here like a joke nor do I want to get flamed. I'm putting that fact out in the open for the simple fact that when I post questions like the one I had you guys can know why I would be asking about such a problem when it may be so easy for ppl who can say "how easy was that"

What most people will say: use the search bar!

The answer for your situation: stock replacement axles.

Googling "OEM Replacement Axles" and educating yourself on the process of installing them via a shop manual or online write-up would be the easiest way to go about this. You'll have fun, and it will be one thing you don't have to ask about in the future. Learn as you go.

There's no reason for that post ^^. He asked a question, and was even polite after you made that "contribution." Not everyone is born being mechanically inclined, so others come here to learn. Think constructive when you post bro.

Your the first person to welcome flaming I have ever seen... Stock axles are fine until you hit high HP #'s anyway. I'm running in the low 300's with my RB and I'm not even worried about them.Maybe you should look into suspension so your not binding everything up and break something again. Cars are made to go forward not sideways.

Here you go buddy. Read all of the articles in this page and get some hands on. Most of the articles are pretty handy when you are first learning about cars, but the hands on stuff is really where your gonna learn the most. You gonna get edumacated on some car thangs.

Wait...are you sure you broke an axle? Maybe you shouldn't be attempting to drift.

Take it to a dealership. You will get way overcharged but at least it will get fixed correctly.
