Hey im about to replace my diff with my j30 vlsd. i also have the corisponding axles, but one of them is missing the end cap and 3 ball bearings on the diff side. i was wondering, can i take the cap and bearings from the stock 240 axle and put them into my j30 axels....are the bearings the same size? i wont know this until i pull it all apart so im just trying to see if any1 knows this.

Maybe hes talking about Axel Folley from Beverly Hills Cop.

I'm not sure but you can probably contact your local Infiniti/Nissan dealer. I have walked in to the service department and have talked personally to the techs/mechanics before. They will also let you look at paper FSM too. last resort, axles from advanced auto and auto zone are pretty cheap once you trade in your cores.

Okay are your axles (J30 ones) the 5bolt ones? If so you can't use the endcaps of the Open diff. The endcaps on the open diff stick out into the diff....The 5bolt ones are flat. As far as the ball bearings are concerned I'm not totally sure if you can use the open diff ones.
