Now that I have your attention...This thread is to address the SSAutochrome turbo kits sold on various sites all over the internet, mostly EBAY.

SSA does not sponsor NICO, so posts/threads with links to any site that sells them will be delted on site.

SSA has a long history of making a horrible product. Everytime someone see's this "new" kit on ebay for under $1000 they make a whole new thread about it. Those days are over. NO MORE SSA THREADS.

If you have a question about installing one, or almost anything else directly related to the KAT forum, feel free to post. But everything else must stop.

If you have any questions, please email me. [email protected]

Thankyou

repetitive posts do get old real quick. especially if you are here to learn something.

deleting the links sounds good, but i would still like to hear of good/bad experiences with any new products, including ssac. they are not advertising directly so i think it would be unfair to delete a thread just because their name comes up.

yes but in the mods' defense it IS still FREE ADVERTISEMENT... why pay for advertisement space when you can have someone do it for you for free (not inferring SSA had these people come post this for them but that doesnt change the fact that it still did happen.)

so then are we not allowed to discuss any product unless it's manufacturer is a nico sponsor?

the form of free advertisement i'm referring to is called word of mouth (well, at least before the internet, not sure what correct terminology would be for the internet) and i find it useful when deciding what to buy. I dont want to hear only the manufacturer's review, I'd like to hear from others using the product.

i agree the, "check out this great deal," posts should stop, but not just any ssac post

it's more everyone is tired of having to explaine why SSA product is ****. No one cares if they're a sponsor or not, they still suck.

I believe he said "If anyone has questions on how to install that will be fine" Not a direct quote but similar. Unless i misunderstood that means that it is ok to say "How do i install this cracked SSA manifold on my car?", but it is not ok to say "PIMP AZZ SSA T-KIT for 1000$, IS IT ANY GOOD?"

Well-said, my friend.

Brian has my full support on this. Perhaps it will motivate SSA to improve their QC - when they do, they're more than welcome to contact us, and we'll give it a fair shake.

If it performs, we'll report that. If it sucks, we'll report that as well.

It's also annoying that one of these posts comes up every week, and noone bothers to search, even though there are more than plenty of posts already describing the bad quality of these kits. I'm sure if someone comes on here posting "My SSA turbo kit has been working for (some large number) of miles people will reconsider it, thought it could still be viewed as free advertisement if there's too much of it. I don't see this happening any time soon though.

Its a simple matter of poor welding. I bought the mani for $350 brand new, it doesn't fit with my S14 and ABS. So I'm selling it, But for 100 bucks, cause I don't want to rip anyone off. Its only worth that.

umm there have been a lot of people with problems and a lot of people with success, and many times when someone posts up something related to ssa people will just tell their experiences. as i understand it their products are either hit or miss... i'm not saying that the ongoing ssa question madness should continue, just simply bringing it to your attn. but anyway yeah i support deleting threads of people who will not use the search button... because that's basically what you are doing, for ssa related stuff anyway, because no matter how you choose to search for topics on ssa you will come up with something... so basically the new threads are newbies who didn't read any stickies and are lazy.

for their defense, I got their fc3s exhaust system and it's great for 240 shipped. Seriously, I could not see anyone outdoing them for the quality/materials at that price. Howevrer, the cat-back section of it is manufactured by motoria in korea. Which seems to be a reputable company. Also, their fd3s manifold is very good. Divided and good gauge ss. That being said, their fc3s manifold is crap, their sr/ka/and ca manifolds seem to be crap.

I guess it's hit and miss w/these guys. It just depends where they source their products from.
