I assume you are talking about the AWD lock indicator located just to the left of the tach needle. It should turn off at higher speeds. Perhaps another AWD owner can comment on this?
BTW, the purpose of AWD lock button is to lock the system to 50/50 front/rear power distribution. You should only be using it for extra traction in snow, gravel, mud and other loose surfaces. When the AWD lock is OFF, the system will run in full automatic mode and vary the torque split between the front and rear wheels as needed to maintain traction.
Using the AWD lock on dry pavement is not advised as it may increase fuel consumption, tire wear and put undue stress on the transmission and transfer case.
Now, the AWD light shoule
