Hey for all your JX eperts out there, just curious on some info on the different drive modes and when AWD is used and not.

SNOW - assuming AWD engaged all the time.
ECO - assuiming only 2wd???
STD - varies
SPORT - read somewhere its AWD all the time like Snow mode?

SNOW just alters throttle mapping to reduce wheel slipage, has nothing to do with engaging wheels.

Eco again alters the throttle, basically does not accept hard accelerations.

STD is normal CVT mode

SPORT drives like a 6-speed auto, revs at higher RPMs for more power and faster acceleration.

Thanks timmbo, so I guess the AWD is variable on conditions or is it full time AWD?

thought the jx was similar to what the pathfinder does on AUTO mode, where it uses only 2wd unless necessary, then 4wd kicks in.

Correct.....FWD unti slip is detected and power is sent to other wheels as needed. AWD system is active and ready to send power to other wheels at all times

interesting that it only affects engine mappings, I would think for SNOW mode it would basically say use AWD the whole time, but good into to know.

Sometimes it is nice to drive in deep snow and let the AWD kick in without the VDC kicking in, so it is nice to turn that off on occasion depending on the conditions.
