Also, if you turn awd lock on, it will automatically disengage once you hit a certain speed and then only turn on when needed.slimsol wrote:Thanks. I was going to return the car today
I have a '15 and mine does this, so I don't think there's anything wrong. (They probably just changed it to not always be lit up.)andygold wrote:On my 2015 SL the light illuminates on start-up, but then goes out. This seems wrong for a 2014, but what about a 2015?
UPDATE: Dealership contacted me to let me know they have their tech researching problem. The AWD light is on in the other 2015's on their lot EXCEPT for the one I test drove. Was working when I drove it, no longer lights up now. Apparently the indicator light only works the first few miles of driving, not after that? (my words, not theirs)remharmon wrote:Test drove a 2015 SV with premium package last friday and the AWD indicator light stayed on for entire ride. The salesman made a point of showing me this. The dealer had several Rogues to chose from and I didn't have time to test drive them all, and I figured they would all perform the same, so picked out a 2015 SL with everything I wanted and drove it home. As home was 100 miles away, and it was already late and dark, and there were so many other things to figure out, I didn't notice the the AWD light was not displayed on the dash. Doesn't even light momentarily when starting the car. Called the dealer and he is trying to find an answer before I make another 200 mile round trip to dealership. The AWD Lock light works. Since we had a bit of snow the day after I brought it home, I drove it through some slick spots with the 4X4-i display on, and if that can be believed, all 4 wheels are kicking in when needed, but no other dash indicator lights to let me know. Hopefully dealer will let me know status soon.
I'm in pretty much the same boat. The car I test drove was probably a '14 and had the AWD light on. In my '15 Rogue, the light is never on. Didn't pay attention to the lights during start-up but I'll take a look later today.remharmon wrote:Don't know that there is a definitive answer yet Benny. My '15 SL is exactly the same as far as dash lights. The '15 SV I test drove had the light, as the dealer made sure to point it out. Dealership is 100 miles away, so called next day when I realized no light as per manual and one I test drove. He didn't know what problem was, was having tech check into it. Also said the '15 SV I test drove no longer had AWD light ?!? But the others on the lot did. Beginning to think he never really checked or accidentally got into the several '14's left on the lot.
Checked it this afternoon...put my car in the On position and the AWD light did not show up. Not sure if it even exists anymore now. AWD Lock just shows the yellow AWD lock light instead.remharmon wrote:Don't know that there is a definitive answer yet Benny. My '15 SL is exactly the same as far as dash lights. I believe it shows on the 4x4 driver's assist info screen. You see a little sliver to the rear wheels when you start but then everything goes to the front wheels shortly after.slimsol wrote:Actually rear wheels kick in every time you launch the car from stop till up to 10mph but it receives only about 5% of power . When the car detects loss of traction then it transfers more power to rear wheels but.
My 2015 manual says this too but I think they probably killed the green AWD light at the last minute and forgot to revise the manual or issue supplemental pages about it. I just use the 4x4 driver's assist screen to see where power is going.jmfrankie1 wrote:I don't know why the owners manual would make note of this light if it does not actually exist. I have never seen the green light illuminate even for a second when starting. I will have to check it tonight to see if it looks like its even on the dash, but just not lit. Either way, the 2015 owners manual states on page 2-12 that there is a AWD indicator light for all wheel drive auto mode. There are also other references in starting and driving sections for this indicator light again in the 2015 manual. I know the vehicle is supposed to always be in auto AWD, but the references to indicator lights in the manual is extremely misleading if this is not how it operates.
I agree. I have the same four sets of lights on and its sometimes distracting. I have to take a look at them once in a while to make sure one of them is not a warning light. Why tell you something is working fine.Maximus099 wrote:I would actually prefer seeing lights when there's an issue or malfunction with a component. At the moment in my 2014 sv awd when driving at night I have a green light for the awd, another green light for headlights, another green light for fog lights and finally a orange tpms malfunction light on because of my winter tires with no tpms installed....all those lights means its christmas again.
