I am pretty sure that this has been answered but i searched and couldnt find the answer.

I am just wondering if the CA18DET AWD flywheel is the same as the CA18DE FWD.

No! The AWD is the same as the RWD. The FWD DE's flywheel is smaller in diameter.

so is the AWD starter the same as the FWD and just mounted in a different spot on the bellhousing to accomidate the bigger flywheel?

and this also means any RWD clutch will fit?

The AWD det engine is the same as the RWD engine, except for some minor mods on the intake, which will take about 30mins to convert a RWD to FWD/AWD det and visa versa.

The starter from the RWD is the Same as the AWD and the ca18de but different than the ca16de.

The flywheel on the AWD/rwd det is big, thick and heavy about 25lb

The ca18de flywheel is about 1/2 inch thiner than the det and but the same diameter, but the clutch on the ca18de is smaller in diameter than the AWD/RWD det by about 1 inch

The starter is the same location on all ca models, but the one on a ca16de engine is smaller in size.

The ca18det flywheel is about 3 times the size of the ca16de flywheel. the ca16de clutch is about 2.5 inchs smaller than the det clutch

Hi nismoplsr,

Yes, I do have an AWD transmission with the flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, shoot me an email [email protected] and it can be yours as I have no use for it, I had two of them and I gave one away to a buddy of mine.
