Just wondering how close the chassis is from the pulsar gtir to the sentra.? A friend and I are considering converting a sentra to AWD with the gtir drive train. ANY IDEAS ARE WELCOME

That sounds like an awesome project. Wish I knew the specs so I could help. Maybe locating the full shop manual for each car would help. They usually have lengths and widths of different components listed in those manuals.

I commend you on the effort though; I mean I wonder why Nissan doesn't make an AWD sport compact and use the SER for the base? I'm sure they could do it better and cheaper than WRX or EVO (if they tried), and Im sure there is a market for it. Keep us updated on the progress of this project, I for one am interested.

This is an idea I've thrown around for quite awhile. Unfortunately, I've never had the money or time or anything to do it, but down the road I may.

Yes, it can be done.

Think about it, the "hump in the floor" exists in Sentras, so the ability to put a driveshaft also exists. Though some say the tunnel does not exists... which also makes sense... so maybe it's a bit more difficult than simply swapping, and the suspension components would be an issue, so it would require swapping in essentially a complete Pulsar rear end.

Still, if you've got a B13 SE-R around, it'd be a fun project.

edit: Did some searching. Apparently Japan had an AWD B13. Import it . It's not like anyone would be able to tell, except it'd be RHD, so I guess you could swap over the parts.

That would be a mean *** car. It would be so unsuspecting, sneak up on evos and sti's. If you do it take lots of pics.
