Does anyone know anything about the VH in the FGNY32/FGNY33 Cima's. This was the awd Y33 version. I have found links in Russian and Jpn but nothing with even a pic of the drivetrain. Was wondering if the front diff was attached to the oil pan as the RB26 or separate like a D21, ect.

Hi Clifton,I have an AWD Cima front cut. We are playing with one now.Basically what you said first is true. The front diff is attached to the sump and the shaft runs through the sump. Just like an RB26 set up or a (AWD RB25). How ever everything is bigger, unlike the RBs diff being a cast part of the sump the VH uses a steel casing bolted to the block and sump. The diff itself is also larger in diameter. If I can be of any further help just let me know.

VH41's Pan or Sump.

It's braced and threaded into the engine block something the Vh45 wouldn't have. Interesting I was wondering how they handle there extra torque. I'm still doing my R230's.

So to confirm, this vh41 is from a y33?

Also, I'd love to see what port style this motor has.

Anyone know what ratio this diff is?

These are extremely hard to acquire, probably no lsd in it .

Specific Chassis : FGNY33

Car : Cima (96-) AWD &4WS

Hi there,They came out in the Y32 and Y33 Cimas in Japan.Basically just look for an "N" in the Chassis codes eg Y33 is GF-FGNY33 and the Y32 is E-FGNY32.The diffs are a 3.692.The front Diff is an open style.Rear is a VLSD.

Port Style. The motor is a JDM VH41DE, with the 4WD attached. So the ports are identical to them. There are a few "add on" quirks to the 4WD motor. But nothing much.

I can't wait to have mine going!Just finishing off an adaptor plate and flywheel now.

gianavel, thanks alot for sharing your pics. I looked for hours. Doesn't look like it will work in an S30 though. Diff is a little too far back without moving the engine 10" forward and having a horrible weight distribution.

What are your putting yours in? Keeping it awd I assume?

He's doing one in Stagea and it will stay 4wd.

His Skyline GTR also, the difference in the GTR is that he's using a standalone differential so he moves his engine back like I will.

Hi Clifton,AWD S30?Do you really need it? The chassis in those babies are pretty good aren't they?I have no hands on with them, but from what I have been told.I don't know, I think sometimes the whole AWD thing is over played, for a performance car that is.I prefer Chassis balance to AWD any day, again performnace based vehicle.Would be pretty cool though!

With the power I have now and the light weight, just over 2500 lbs, I have to run R compound tires all the time. Even with a 275mm R comp tire and 60* F temps, I can spin them in a 70 mph third gear roll if it is not near new tire. On a new drag radial it hooks better but still has problems when it's cool out. Summer is better. I can run the older R comps as it is so friggin hot here they hook up better and put the DR's in the closet till winter. Sucks have a summer and winter set of R comp tires though, that don't last too long. When I get around to the VH I know I can get it further back and it's shorter but it's going to have even more power than what I have now. May just have to go to a 315 or 335mm drag tire and a flare. I know awd would solve alot of the traction problems even though it would add some weight. My weight is 53f/46r. Can't really change that without moving the drivetrain back

I think 4wd is a great advantage myself. Once you get too much power and you don't wanna go straight tricky things occur, hell even when your going striaght too.

SKyline's ETS system isn't the same of course its 4wd when it's needed.

So, Clifton you ready to know what your gonna deal with?

I knew it used a center diff. I also would of used the R32 trans/t case as those, from what I've read are easier to deal with (less electronics) and you can easily uses an after market torque split controller. Don't think any of it is going to happen though. I know of two awd S30's one RB26 (not enough cubes for me) and this V8 one . I know nothing about it but I think it is probably an LS motor as they can be had with awd in the US in the Trailblazer. If so they have the diff on the left side here and might use up to much space on a left hand drive S30. They are pretty narrow compared to alot of newer cars.

I moved the photo's thats why they're down.

You really cant get just the oil pan you'd have to get the block because it braces to the side of the engine block too which non AWD engines have.

Ah looks like the diff is too far rearwards for it to be much use in my skyline.

But ive bitten the bullet and asked R.I.P.S. in newzealand to modify a motor to fit. I just dont have the facilities to do the work myself. But I can tackle bolting it in no problem!
