Just wondering if anyone know's of anyway to make more power with out breaking my wallet? Also is removing the rear muffler going to reduce or increase the power?

Welcome to Nico

For extra power do a search for - NICO ECU It's the best bang for the buck.

Rear muffler - as far as I know, there is no power to be gained by removing it.

A diff gear change will do wonders. The 4:08 will not give you more hp but you will get better launch. And yes, nico ecu's are really nice.

Black on black is pretty rare. I've only seen one '93 black/black.

Isn't the 4.11:1 the good one?

yes, the GTR rear diff is the way to go. But my 408 is pretty close ratio wise.and somewhat cheaper if you know what your doing. Lots of threads on this issue.

I know this isn't really an answer to your question, but getting the car back to OEM performance specs. will go a long way. New owners frequently find maintenence issues that rob loads of horsepower (bad knock sensors, dirty intakes, incorrect non-oem spark plugs, dirty injectors, bad thermostats, etc.) A Q performing at OEM New specs. will be pretty impressive! Then adding some suspension upgrades and the "NICO ECU" are nice gravy items.

You might also read up on the whole timing chain guide issue before you put a whole lot of $$ into it. Some '93s have the updated guides, and some don't. We haven't really been able to figure out a true cut-off date by VIN yet.

I totally agree. A properly sorted Q is not short on power... unless your used to driving mid 12 second or 13 second cars, the Q is not a slug by any means!

Hehe, that was my problem... I was getting bored with my '89 camaro (400+hp) when I got my Q... and then the BMW 540i. Neither are anywhere near thrilling. It's just too bad the camaro was such a tin can. Looking back on it, I probably woulda been better off spending a little $$$ on weatherstrip, sound insulation, interior (including new seats), and converting it to 13" C5 'vette brakes than to buy the Q45s and BMW. Oh well, at least I haven't had but 1 speeding ticket since I sold the camaro a couple years ago.
