obviously the best way to avoid a ticket is to not speed and not drive like an ***hole...but when u get a ticket how do u get out of it, ne one have any tricks that they've used to get off the hook? my speedo wasn't working @ the time of my ticket and i still got charged, even tho it wasn't my responsibility for fixing it...i bought the car like that and the dealer was supposed to fix it..(i'm actually taking them to small claims court to get the money to fix the car....the whole car...still got the big 'ol "R" sticker since i bought it in november:D)

Traffic court judges have heard it all.

Yes I know. Quite possibly the only real way to get out of a ticket is to pray that the judge is in a good mood and shows you some pity.

Cooperation, respect, and sincerity have always helped me out. Beyond that, a good lawyer. ;)

I would say the best way to aviod tickets is just don't lie to the cop that pulls you over. That really pisses them off. I got pulled over and the guy asked if I knew how fast I was going. I told him I did. He asked my why, and the only answer I could think of was the obvious reason.......I was bored and needed something to do so....why not do a little improvised speed test through the neighborhood. It worked too, he let me off with just a warning not to do it again.

i DEFINATELY agree with fastblue240sx. the cops in my town are so strict about everything in my town. they pull people over for going like 5, one minor crash- the whole force is there, they even called an ambulence out when they heard that there was going to be a fight after school at the lake. anyway, i got pulled for what the cop says is 15 over. i dont think i was going that fast, maby i was, doesnt mater. i knew i was gona get pulled by the way the cop pulled out right behind me and followed me close. as soon as i saw the lights, i turned on my flashers ( always do that) and pulled over. i had my stuff ready and i was just real polite with her, said i didnt think i was going that fast, ect... she gave me a warning instead of a ticket.oh, and trust me, cops have heard every story in the book, so you better have someone bleeding in the back seat if you are going to tell a story

The cops in my town are strict but only because they're a bunch of young rookies. I was only doing 40 when the cop pulled me over, and I told him that. I still have no idea why he didn't give me a ticket, but hey, who's complaining?

make buddies with someone on the force like i did. I was lucky though, with my job i got to work with both highway patrol and local cops so when i had a problem i'd just go to them

Once you've gotten the ticket, you need to take your lumps. The best way to avoid a ticket is never be the fastest, or most agressive appearing driver on the road.

What you should do depends on the severity of your case. If it was only like 5 over or something relatively minor, it might be cheaper to try to handle it yourself, but if it is bad and might affect your insurance a lot the best way is to get a lawyer. An arugment that I have seen work is for you to plead defective equipment and present to the court a certified statement from a shop that your speedo is now in working order. Usually they lower your offense, often to a non-moving violation. And telling the truth doesn't always work, I think it made my officer more pissed off when I told him I was sliding around the parking lot "cause I had nothing better to do."

Caprices and crown vics top out at 145. The new intrepid crusiers top out at 160 something. Best way to avoid tickets--- have your dad be a State Trooper for 25yrs and then become sheriff of your home town.

I'm 19 been pulled over 15 times. 9 since I've been in the military = 0 tickets! The whole military thing usually works for the guys I don't know. I guess I need a radar detector.

Works for speeding.

Keep a waterbottle close to you.

when you get pulled over, say you pee'd. DONE

lol well id unno if this would work, but sure seems funny

[EDIT] WEll i forgot to mention splash water on your pants. lol t wouldn't work too well if you didn't do this. unless you really pee in your pants.....thats a different story.
