I am obviously new to this forum and I am also new to the G35. I am shopping for a 2003/ 2004 G35 coupe MT. I do not know anyone that owns a G35 and I have used the search on the forum and have not come up with the answers/ opinions that I am looking for. I have read a couple of threads talking about oil consumption and fuel efficiency. Now with that being said what are the average #s for members on this forum that own manual or auto g35 on both of these issues? My only other question is in regards to any mechanical issues that these cars have, whether it be transmission issues or basic engine components failing? Thank you in advance for any info given. I look forward to becoming an owner, very soon.

Welcome aboard!

As far as mileage, I get about 20mpg with hard, in-town driving with my 6MT.

I have never experienced oil consumption with mine, but then again, I faithfully change the oil every 3000 miles.

I do some hill climbing and drive about 80 on average when I am on the freeway. I am getting about 280 to 300 miles per tank. I too change my oil at about 3k even with synthetic. I have never had any problems with my motor or transmission. I have had problems with my Mass Air Flow Sensor. I did not change my air filter on my Injen intake system and it caused dirt to get on the MAFS causing poor performance. That is the only issue I have had since Feb 2004 when I got the car new.
