im doing the install myself on a x910 and this is probably a real dumb question. when i connect the ground, mute wire, and the green parking brake wire. what is the best way to connect all three wires? is there a wrong way and a right way? just want to make sure i do this correctly.

will it work this way? not the right wires just something i did as an example. the black wires would be the ground and the others would be the mute wire and pbrake wire.

or is it better if i do it this way? not my picture

thanks guys!!!

Same thing...all 4 wires are connected to each other so no difference. Im not familiar with the particular install you are referring to but from an electrical standpoint its red apples to green apples...ya got apples either way.

OP, what ur doing is called common ground... and no it doesn't matter which way you do it, as long as you make sure you ground them to metal...

sounds simple enough, but I've seen folks try to ground to plastic parts in the car

the thing is, there are some areas that, on first glance, may look like its a good ground point, but it may be metal attached to a plstic part of the car... i don't think they intentially thought they could ground to plastic

also, sometimes, grounding to the car on a painted surface may not provide a good ground, so its always best to scrape the paint off of an area that will be used to ground something, if the situation calls for it! Good luck with the install... let us know how it turns out!!!

100% finished the install. installing the radio went real smooth. microphone was installed in the overhead map light console and the gps antenna was mounted on the rear window right by the headliner. no cords show everything is hidden and looks completely stock other then the unit itself. pat myself on the back.

Some new additions to the system. New 10in diamond audio d3 sub and a diamond audio mono amp. No fancy setup, just something to add some lows.
