Avic D3 Updates?

Hi everyone,

I have an Avic D3 in my coupe now that I bought a few years ago. It is a pretty good unit but aging and when I have the money I will probably get the Excelon.

In the mean time I have heard of firmware updates for the unit that decrease start up times and increase usability with ipod/iphone.

I have also heard of map updates. I have looked on Pioneers hideous website and cant seem to nail it down. I have found other websites that claim to have it but the ones I have tried are either corrupted, or had virus alerts when I scan them.

Does anyone have one of these that thay have successfully updated? If so where did you find the update?

If ya find out tell me too, I searched everywhere. Where did you hear about these updates???? maybe calling pioneer?

I just googled "Avic D3" update and come up with a bunch of stuff. There is supposedly firmware and map updates for it, but like I said I have not had any success getting them.

It might be somewhere on their website but the searching of their site is horrible. Doesnt anyone make simple product websites anymore? It just takes you to a forum where other forum members to the companies CS for them for free. Lots of links to dead ends and viruses.. still looking.
