i just recently installed the pioneer avic d2 into my 2003 g35 sedan. it looks great an all but i'm encountering one minor problem, a whinding noise when i accelerate. i have an aftermarket kicker 4 channel amp hooked up to it. i tried relocating the grounds, that didn't help, then i replaced the amp, and still no help. i then went further to changing the unit. and still not help with the nosie. the only thing i havent done yet is replaced the rca wires. does anyone have any suggestions? btw, a ground loop isolator didnt help either. when i disconnect the amp and use the factory amp the nosie stops, so i'm guessing its the rca wires? i also changed my speakers, so everything is running at 4 ohms.

HELP ME PLEASE!!

Try the above diagnostic flowchart. It's basically a well laid out trial and error process that will help you isolate the noise source and correct it.

Here are some ideas off the top of my head:

-Are you running the RCAs and power on the same side? If not, then pull the RCAs from the interior of the car, and run them through the cabin over the seats. If the problem stops, then run the wires on the other side of the car. -Did you scrape the paint off for the Amp ground connection?

-Using the same gauge wire for the power/ground?

-HU ground verifed good?

Try posting in the audio and security forum...

Alternator whine is the most annoying issue to resolve! The most successful one that I have tried attacked the noise by placing a filter in-line with the RCA inputs. The old way of feeding the 12V input through a choke never completely eliminated the noise.

Good luck!

by filer, did you mean ground loop isolator? because i know that's a filter that interconnects before the rca's go into the amp. i only have this problem by the way when i connect my 4 channel amp, if i use the factory amp with the aftermarket head unit, its fine. and i just changed the rca's, and no major difference. and also the ground loop didnt really help, but deterioriated my sound quality

thanks...all feedback is welcomed

If it's isolated to the aftermarket amp, the noise is somewhere in this circuit. The power lines, ground or RCA's can all be inducing noise. Trial and error can probably iolate the source more specifically leading you to a solution.
