average oil presure

hey wats up guys I was wondering wat should be the avg oil presure beause my oil presure gauge jumps around like azy but never goes pased 30

could be a bad sender, should be about 30 at startup and once warmed up should settle to about 15, and undel hard acceleration it should climb to at least 60

i already changed the sinder my oil pressure never even makes it o the 30 line i guess u can say when i accelarate it gets to about 15 n then for some odd reason when i drop it into nuetral it goes back 2 0 i dunno wat the problem is any suggestions

what weight oil are you running? and I assume you've had a recent oil change?

hmm yes I'm usin 10w-30 the car was sittin for bout 8 months when I started usuin it it was the motor was clickin so I did oil change n the oil pressure moved more then b4 so after that a week later I used sea foam on the motor now it runs smothes n click happens once in a blue I'm guessin sticky lifter but the pressure now is better but still doesn't get up 2 avg friend of mine says that my oil pump maybe be messed up n also my oil pan is all jacked up n leaks lil bit of oil could that affect the pressure???

i find the gauge to be very non-indicative of how much oil is in the system, as my oil was below the dipstick and it was still reading the same oil pressure at warm idle and 3k+rpm despite it obviously lacking oil.
