HI, Sorry for the log post...
I have had and still am having many problems with my 1990 240sx ka24e.
When I bought it it ran like a dog, (rough idle, missing at idle, hesitation about 8 mpg) so I replaced/tested everything I could get my hands on including changing out all of the vacume hoses (I bought a spool and went to town).
I finaly gave up and took it in to a shop, they hooked it up and it was running at 11% at idle (I do not know what this means) and should be around 1% so they did a smoke test on the vacume (no leaks) and cleaned the injectors, did a wet test and found 150 psi, and then it tested at .95% at idle. But after I took it home I found the vacume line to the charcoal canister unplugged......
I plugged it in and now it does seem to run a little better and I am getting about 17mpg but my idle is still rough, (shakes inside the car) and randomly pops like a fop......fop.fop.......fop sound at idle, and smells rich at the back, it doesn't seem to have as much power as I was expecting?? My son has a 91 with a ka24de and it will run circles around mine... and I know it has about 10 to 15 more hp but I have removed the whole AC and clutch fan to try to make up the diff, but it is still sluggish
it still acts like it has a vacume leak somewhere. It has a new cat and exaust 2.5" new temp censor new egr valve, new plugs, wires, cap, rotor .The ecu reads 55
