Avenier B13 swap

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

I'm sure this has been covered a million times, but I couldn't find anything in search.

Is there a FAQ or some sort of guide for swapping in a sr20det from a JDM Avenier? It looks like I can get ahold of one and was wondering how much more of a pain it is to put in rather than the stock sr20de.

Thanks!

Hmm... I think that link I emailed you awhile back should be of quite a bit of help. That SR will bolt straight in where the old one was.

What kind of management are you running (Avenir ECU, JWT ECU, etc?), that should be the only sticking point, besides the downpipe, which you'll probably have to get custom made at a shop (so just drive slowly and as quietly as possible with open turbo, unless you have the stock Avenir dp, that may bolt up to whatever exhaust you've got).

I'm unsure about the ECU at this point. I'm waiting to hear back from SOKO to see if it's included. If it's not can I pick one up from JWT, and is that a pain to deal with? Also, is a FMIC absolutley needed if running only stock boost?

JWT will not have an ECU for an Avenir, but they should be able to put together a USDM ECU that will be able to run the parts of an Avenir.

An FMIC is not necessary at all, but some kind of intercooler will be necessary even at stock boost (7psi) to maintain efficiency. I believe the Avenir comes stock with a TMIC. You could simply fashion a hood scoop and use that.

You can use your stock ECU with S AFC. Unfortunately the avenir motor doesn't have a tmic. It's designed to be Front mounted. You could make it a top mount, but would required you to clock the turbo so the compressor inlet points up. A bigger fuel pump is a necessity as well. Even at stock boost you are pushing the limits of the stock fuel pump. A down pipe is needed along with a exhaust at least 2.5". I would recommend energy suspension motor mount inserts and definately change the water pump. Must upgrade the clutch too. As far as the swap goes, its no different than putting in another DE motor.

You guys think it would be better to swap in a stock N/A DE and turbo that instead of going the Avenier route?

What's the difference? The avenir motor is lower compression, has piston oil squirters and the block is already setup for oil/coolant to run to the turbo. Sure you could buy a JDM motor, spend 450, then another 650 for a t25 turbo kit (not the avenir t25 either), 120 for injectors, 100-200 for misc items to run oil/coolant lines, then you would have to drill and tap block for oil return and then be limited on boost. You would save yourself about 200 in all and have alot more work.

Buy an already turbo motor (or block) if you've got the time for sure.
