AVC-R Wiring Issue

This is probably silly, but after installing my AVC-R per the apexi manual, it is always on. I connected the red wire to the IG Power pin on the ecu. It seems the pin in the apexi manual is a constant 12v and not a switched one. Is this correct? If so which pin did you guys use to keep the avc-r from staying on all the time? I was thinking about using the switched 12v from the radio harness.

you can use the power from your ECU thats usally what i used
