Aux wire

Like an idiot.. I broke my auxillary wire input. The piece that holds the wire in place snapped and now the mp3 player only plays from one side of the car. I went to the stealership today and they said I had to buy a brand new stereo for 530 dollars. Thanks but no thanks. I was experimenting today and took out the plastic piece around the aux wire input and saw a small box which can easily be replaced. Does anyone know what I can do? I'm going back to the dealer this week or next and having them look at it. I'd like to know what I'm talking about before I go so they cant lie to me again. Does anyone know if it is actually possible to fix this one piece without replacing the whole stereo system? I'm not paying that much for one small input hole. Thanks.

Shift, do you have the premium package? If so, I'm looking to offload my entire cdplayer/ radio setup that came with the premium package. Also, i think there may be another way where you don't have to pay so much, but it's just a maybe.

I installed my 4th monitor in the car. Well it's actually another dvd player with a small monitor on the front. I purchased the storage box that comes with the technology package. This was hella cheap, only 38 bucks! In any case, the auillary unput for this is actually a little module thingy that screws into the back of the storage box. I'm pretty sure this car be removed. HOWEVER, it looks as if there's a plug that goes into it. Obviously, since my car doesn't have the technilogy package, I don't think I have the pug for this! But, it may be worth a shot to buy this piece for 38 bucks and try to see if it can be removed.

I have a 2.5 with only the convenience.. so its the simpler radio. I opened it and also saw a module but I'm not sure if it can be removed. Can you explain this 38 dollar piece you're talking about?

I'm not sure if we're talkin about the same think RJ.. I'm saying the auxillary port where you plug in the wire. That's on the headunit. Is that what that link is for? It has no pics so i dont know

no no no, this is the link to where to purchase the storage box with the attached piece if you decide that's what you want to do! They don't sell the little module thingy by itself. It's screwed onto the back of this storage box (the one tha says leather w/ navigation)... as i mentioned, I'm not sure if this piece will even work, just trying to help.

You can get an aux wire at any any electronics store, or even Wally-mart for that matter.

The aux module in the car doesn't come out. I tried. There seem to be clips holding it and even after the clips are unfastened.. the module is loose but stuck.
