Hello all.

I'm using the aux port in the rear of my armrest to play music from my iPod.i noticed the volume is a lot lower than CD or Radio... i have to crank the volume up almost to the top.is this normal? is there a setting i can increase the AUX volume, i remember seeing a diagnostic menu... but can't find it now.

also, it has a lot of humming noise when I plug my ipod to the power and play at the same time... i think there is a filter for it, but not sure.... please help.

I have to ask the obvious question... did you turn up your volume on the actual Ipod? try turning it up all 3/4 volume, then use the car volume as needed. Mine doesn't seem to have the extra noise or anything.

yes, i have tried both... with iPod volume to the max and only 3/4.the noise only comes in when I charge and play ipod at the same time.... but the volume still low either way.

I have to ask an obvious follow-up - did you set the "max volume" on your ipod lower to avoid high headphone volumes? this may be limiting you even when it appears that you have the volume all the way up.

no, the volume is set to the max... i have tried both headphone jack and using the dock connection.i heard about this before but can't seem to remember the solution, i think there is a inline filter or something.

If the noise increases with engine RPM then you have something called "alternator whine". This happens due to poor grounding. In that case you will have to use an inline ground loop isolator on the RCA cables.

use the steering wheel source button to get to the AUX input. That is the only way I can get to it...

You can access the Aux input from the Disc button next to the Nav Screen. Push the Disc button and arrow over to the Aux input on the left. Select this and you should be able to listen to the aux input. Just go back to that screen and select DVD to toggle back.

Hope this helps.
