I''ve pulled the radiator from my 95 (it has an Aux transmission cooler), when it's time to put the radiator back in the car, it won't have any of the lines/plumbing from the factorey transmission cooler/heat exchanger.

So, the question is what should I do about the old heat exchanger? Will leaving it and the lines (within the rad) empty be an issue, should I fill it with antifreeze, transmission fluid or what?

I left mine empty and plugged the holes.

...don't think anything would happen.

I'm with Squeefoo, but read Skibane's post on his FY33. Bypass worked best for lowest pressure. Mine are still in series for winter, but I might change.

I like the B&M large cylinder with fins for extra ATF capacity.

Leaving them empty is fine, it's common for manufacturers to only have one model of radiator for both automatics and manual gearboxes. You might want to put caps over the nipples to keep wasps from deciding it's a good place to nest.

Rubber plugs/caps. Dont bother filling it with anything.

Well, if I leave it empty (current plan) I would def plug the holes.

My "thinking" was the air may impact the radiators ability to maintain the constant temp for the motor, but logically, I can't imagine it's enough to matter.

Thanks for the feedback.
