Evertime i plug in a ipod the music only plays on the right side, i cant even balance to the left, the cd and radio modes both play fine, and im sure its not the cord since i have been using it on two other altimas and a cd player in my house, if anyone could help me out that would be great! Thanks!

Since I'm no audio guru the only things I'd be able to come up with is it being either the cord or the ipod. If you are using both with other systems and it works fine maybe your Aux import itself is loose.

But then again I know just about nothing about this so I'm not even sure if that's possible. If no one else responds try emailing Doc or Apple and see if they can help you out

since the left channel in a standard audio jack is the very bottom receptor (think tip of the plug) its entirely possible there could be some crud in the aux jack preventing a good connection. Try a small q-tip and some alcohol (no, beer doesnt count) and see if cleaning will help

Apparently, the 5th generation iPod classic has an issue with only playing audio through one channel. I was having the same problem myself, until I bought a new iPod. Try checking with Apple and see if there's anything they can do with it if it's not the cable causing the problem.

This is too funny for me. I am going to Nissan today for the SAME problem.

I have gone through this before. I used to think it was cables. During the summer of 2009 I had to get my entire radio replaced because the AUX input was faulty. This is the case again. My aux input has once again failed. I am going to Nissan today to get the entire radio replaced for a second time.

i had a faulty aux cable and got the whole radio replaced also and as soon as I hooked my ipod touch again it was a matter of hours before it got messed up again so I just gave up on going back to Nissan to get it fixed.

Not to sound d!ck but I'm an audio engineer myself. It really does matter on what type of aux cables people buy. It's true what is said most of the time. "You get what you pay for." I'm not saying spend one-hundred dollars on a monster cable but pay a little more than twenty dollars and keep it is satisfactory condition and people won't have this very common problem anymore.

As for my prior post in the this thread, it could still be the aux input itself. Often times people jab or pull on their aux cables too hard scratching the interior of the system and breaking something inside. It isn't recommended you do it yourself. You might as well have Nissan replace the entire thing for free as long as you have your warranty. Buy a new cable, if it doesn't work, return the cable and see your local Nissan as soon as possible.

I have this very same problem with my couple. The AUX input wouldn't play sound from the left side. I switch between 3 cables, and then finally twisting the cable a certain way (causing some kind of force on the jack itself internally) got it to sound right.

I have never had AUX input issues with my Sentra and it's over 3 years old, so I know it's not a matter of damaging the input jack or bad audio cable every time. Yet another example of something small, but annoying with a new Nissan, that will probably never go away (until they redesign the head unit itself later down the line).

I actually do have a monster aux cable that came with my beats by dre. I know not necessarily the best aux cable but im sure thats more than decent quality and its really weird. I'd change it but I already put a sound system on the car so warranty on the radio would probably just get void. The aux stopped working once the back of my ipod touch (aluminum side or whatever metal it is) touched the metallic piece around our CVT shifter. If i press my ipod up against that piece it sounds normal and I take it off and i get just very low voices coming from the speakers. Who knows what's wrong with it

I have the same problem with my ipod Touch and 2010 Coupe. Have to jiggle the plugs either on the one going into the ipod or the aux plug on the head unit. Hit a bump and one channel goes out. I think it's an Apple thing. Do they sell an aux cable? Bet it would work better. Gonna check that out.

Checked it out. Apple site only sells a $20 Monster Cable(ripoff) and the $20 Belkin coiled cable that I just bought at Best Buy($15) about a week ago. So much for that theory.

i had my whole radio replaced because the music was coming out distorted. heres what you do

1) go to best buy and buy a good cable for $20, its black and near the ipod accessories. Test it out and return it when your done. Then you will know if it is the cable or the radio. ( I use the that cable and love it, worth the money, as said before you get what you pay for )

2) If its the radio bring it to the dealership and they will orer you a new radio. The guy at the dealership told me the aux jacks are crap on these units and commonly have problems. Also he said since the jack is stupidly part of the stereo you have to replace the whole thing.

I have a 2012 QX56 and I am having the same problem with the music only playing out of right side when using my iphone 4. Not the cable ...it does it with bluetooth and with the USB cable plugged in.

My son has an Iphone 3 and it plays fine out of all speakers with bluetooth.

Any ideas? I am thinking it has something to do with just the Iphone 4 or that for there is a setting that is preventing it from playing in stereo?
