So looking to install my Sat. Radio I plan on installing the actual unit in the center console. I am really unhappy with the muddy sound quality using the FM transmitter on my SkiFi3. I don't want any wires coming out of the front of the HU, not attractive for a permanent install.

I haven't seen anything about an aux input on the backside of the stock unit, is there a way? After market HU isn't an option, I don't think I would be happy with a separate FM modulator either (unless they are amazing).

I Have a SL not premium audio... is the HU different, is there maybe a way to modify the interface that is normally for iPod? (Don't know if this is possible. I know a lot of times you can add aux via CD changer inputs on other HU's)

Has anyone cracked open the stock unit and ran a cable off the board from the front aux input? If not I might be the first unless someone has a better idea before then.

If you don't have the premium sound package I'm guessing there isnt an aux in the front? Also I have taken out the stock HU and there isn't any plugs in the back at all.

Although I haven't taken it apart it seems like it would be way too much of a hassle to have to run something from the board. Other than that I really think your best option would be to get a new HU.
