Is it possible to run an aux jack through the cubby hole? I think it would make it a lot cleaner and easier. Instead of having to take out a wire, plug it into the radio, plug it into my MP3, and put it back (I can't stand to leave it plugged in and laying around :tisk: ), I could just plug my MP3 into a wire that's in the cubby. Has anyone done this before?

I remember seeing a picture of a wire plugged into the front of the stereo and then it goes behind the stereo (sort of tucked in from the side). I'd imagine who ever did that, had the other end of the wire inside of the little cubby, if not the center console. Idk if their is a way to plug it in from the back.

I was thinking about doing this too! and yes you definitely can solder one in from the back and even mount a surface plug in the console storage compartment. I just haven't figure it out yet!!

Yeah I was thinking of maybe editing some video write ups together of some mods that I haven't seen around here! I've got a few ideas about small electronic accents and stuff

I actually installed one two weeks ago, it is aux to my aftermarket head unit though. I STRONGLY suggest drilling into the cubby from the TOP and DOWN into the cubby. I drilled straight back directly next to the 12V outlet and I came very close to destroying a wire loom behind the cubby. I totally had the wrong perception of where I was drilling to and I almost killed a lot of electrical.

If by cubby hole you mean the space under the HVAC controls, I've done this.

All I had to do is uninstall the power socket attached to that space, and route my wire through the new hole. No drilling required. :)

If you want a picture of what mine looks like let me know, I can take one later.

^But then you dont have 12V power. I use that to charge my phone, that I stream Pandora through, and plug into the AUX input.

Ya, I'd rather keep that. Drilling shouldn't be that much trouble, right?

Ya it's up to you. I don't really have a use for it, so I took it out. I have a USB wire and a iPod wire (which I don't use) going through the whole, and I just plug my USB in there for music :D

Drilling will not be difficult. Just remove the cubby hole first before you drill.

For anything else that needs the 12V, I just use the one in the center console storage.

Definitely do this if you can. Like I said, I did not and I almost ruined an entire loom behind it with my 1/2" drill bit.

Did you have a chance to check out the back of the OEM aux plug? Im curious as to if you are going to be able to tap into that or not. I have my entire OEM unit sitting in my basement, just to busy to go check it out.

How did you get a wire to there? As in, did you simply just plug one in to the aux in and route it through or did you connect a wire from the inside?
