Specter Intake w/hosing. -39.00K&N Drop in Filter -52.00Specter Coupling -3.00Any Additional Costs??? up to you....

I wanted to keep the stock look, I looked around on the web for others who have done this setup and a few peaked my interest, one being a IS300. He basically had the same setup with a tube going straight to his TRD Racing Drop in Filter box. I thought I would do the same. I think Turned out okay. I'm still Waiting on the K&N drop in filter due to the store being out of stock. Even with the stock Filter I noticed a deeper growl, and I haven't noticed a big difference in hp/tq, not like I was expecting to anyway. I will update any further difference with the K&N filter tomorrow.... My purpose was to keep the stock look, and cheap. Plus not enough money for a K&N typhoon kit..... enjoy.

The Stock intake..

Specter Intake Kit..

The Final Result.........

I could have easily made a ram air intake, the only thing is the MAF is a bit harder to relocate.

Yes Cover fits back on, I wanted it to remain Stock looking. I had to donate about 3 hours to make it work and do R&R on it myself because No one has done this yet. Basically you will needs the parts I listed. and something to split/couple the factory hose with the specter hose that comes with the intake kit, went to ace hardware and found something there. Also use a hack saw to cut the aluminum pipe. fairly easy....

Yeah, the only problem is a location for the Mass Air Flow sensor, they had some MAF connecters, but I worry about too many connections with an intake? maybe I'm wrong. But like I said it can easily be done. thanks.

I put in the K&N Drop in filter yesterday and I havent noticed any dramatic increase in hp. Sound is still a slight deeper growl. Also I'm not sure if I'm going crazy, but car is seems like it was spooling up in the rpms quicker? I'm half tempted to install factory intake back on to see any difference. I'll post up newer better quality pics tomorrow.

looks good. !!! you should try and put the cone filter on the end of the pipe to see if it makes a difference without the box.

lol. I might, but I would really like to save my pennies for a K&N typhoon or exhaust. we shall see, thanks. I've checked it daily, runs great!
