im not really a car expert so i was hoping i could get some help from here.i have 2007 350z, with an autotrans, i was thinking of changing it to mantrans. 1) how much would it be to do that? 2) would the car be faster?3) would it change/damage anything in the car?4) and where would be a good trustable place to get it done ?

Is this some kind of lame joke? Why the hell didn't you get a manual Z in the first place?

1) It would cost you a pretty penny. Why you would want to do this is completely beyond me.2) That depends on the driver. The fact that you asked this question...I'd have to say no.3) Change the car...yeah. Obviously it wouldn't be an automatic anymore. As far as damaging...no. Unless the installer doesn't know what they're doing.4) Trustable isn't a word. Don't waste your time and money. Just get a manual Z like you should have done in the first place.

Yeah...no kidding. I don't understand why you got a Z if you don't understand cars.

ok forgive me but if you couldn't get the car on your own you should not have gotten it, don't try swapping it, just make timely payments and trade ti in on the model you want with your own credit in a couple years

Why did they not want you to get a stick? Is it because they're afraid you'll wreck the car somehow? If this is true, you should keep the automatic. What you should have done in the first place was save up your money and buy the Z without relying on your parents' credit. You wouldn't be in this situation now. If you couldn't get it on your own now for whatever reason, you should have waited...drive a beater for now until you were ready. Were you really that impatient to get one?

Ummm I don't really think you know what the hell you're talking about. You're right about one thing though. You don't have to be a complete expert in cars to buy the cars you like...there's always something new to learn. However, it does help to know the basic stuff. You? You know NOTHING about cars whatsoever. If you did know something, you wouldn't have asked so many retarded questions. You just bought the car because you thought it looks cool. You say it feels good to drive. If it feels so good to drive, why do you want a manual? I'm pretty sure you would ***** and moan about the shifts being too rough for your taste. You're the kind of idiot that's either 1) always complaining about the car they own or 2) the one who gets into some kind of mishap because they didn't know what the **** they were doing. You behind the wheel of a RWD car (even though it has VDC) is a recipe for disaster.

'm done with this thread. I can forsee it getting locked soon.

It's going tocost a lot of money to swap it over. You should have just talked to your parents and convinced them to et you get the manual one.

so you have a lambo suposedly, but you want an s13?I hate you more than him.Anyway, yeah if i get a 350z its going to be auto, simply because it is my fathers. Uh... how in the hell do you get a brand spanking new 350z? I mean the one im getting is pretty banged up, even though i fixed alot of the probs......Yeah so if your parents didnt want you to have a manual, they were probably right...... the only way you can dignify yourself now is by NOT wrapping the car around a pole tree ect.I dont see why you would really want a manual (besides the fact they are better ) when you could spend that kind of money on aftermarket..... nismo parts.... turbo kit.... stroker kit....edit: actually shoot for the k&n filter upgrade, that gives you mucho Hp!!! then send me 12k and i will make my i mean your 350z like porsche tt fast!

That's a very labor intensive situation... Why not just work off of the auto transmission? You can improve upon it and add power by doing a Stillen valve body job, among other modifications.
