I'm trying to understand how the adaptive cruise control maintains speed. Let's say you set the speed to 100 km/h and a car in front of you is maintaining 80km/h. So, the autopilot will also maintain 80. My question is how it does that? Does it constantly apply brakes or does it just keep the engine power to have 80km/h speed? I have a feeling that it constantly applies brakes to keep the same speed as a car in front of you...
Does anybody know exactly how it works?
