hello everyone,

ive been looking into a 2way alarm b4 i start putting bigger money into my car and i found a place that has the clifford matrix 3.5 and the autopage rf-520, which is about 150$ cheaper. The guy said he actually likes the autopage more since its easier to upgrade and also service. Anyone have experience with the quality of the alarm? i mean it comes with a year of warranty on parts and lifetime warranty for labor, so it shouldn't be a problem, but i would rather not risk one

so if you know anything about it then leave a reply

My experience with both go way back to the late 80's/early 90's.

Cliffords are nice, but stay away from their entry level stuff, it's not just lower priced, it's cheap.

As for Auto-page, most anyone I knew that was using it was using it for it's paging purposes only and had another alram for actual theft deterence.

Hope that helps.

damn autopage... i got a autopage 750 lcd and i wouldn't recommend it to anyone... sometimes when i go to arm it as i'm walking away, it won't arm, so i begin walking back to my car... hmm will it work at 30 ft? nope! how about 15 ft? nope! hahaha so i humor myself and press the remote up against the side window and push the button.... it works!! wowwwwweeeeeeeee!!

don't fool around with an autopage, go get a Compustar if you can afford it... best price i can find around here is $600 (canadian) installed (w/ remote start, keyless entry, etc.), that's about $460 US, so if you can find a place around you that can install it for that price, it's a good deal and well worth every penny. that's what i gonna get once i get rims.

I favor the matrix, not entry level, and it implements more of the DEI technology less of the clifford's. I can recommend some shops to do the install in Washington State. Maybe even giv eyou the name of the Installer who should do it for you.

The issue is with a poorly installed antenna or a broken antenna.... Nothing wrong with the alarm... Typical symptoms you describe..
