Basically it will depend on experience as far as starting rate, and than you will get paid on "flag-time" which is the amount of labor hours a job calls for, based on labor guide average hours. So the key is to complete the job in a faster time than the labor guide in order to get more jobs completed in a specific pay period.BMAR240SX wrote:Sorry to thread jack but anyone know the starting salary after finishing the trade school.

usually they dont start you out on flag time also known as flat rate right away they give you at least a few months before they do that also you cant be too fast because they start to cut your flat rate hours if you making too much money off them then again it depends on the dealership there not all the same2projects2many wrote:

This is the long end of the normal pay plan for technicians, but to try and give you a range it is usually $27,000 to $65,000 annually. The key to earning more and/or even getting hired by most, is to get ASE certified in as many specialties as possible (this will make you more valuable to repair facility)
