In my previous cars I had installed Lojack. Yesterday I was told that better systems are now available. Namely the Karr GPS tracking system that allows the owner to display tracking info on a home computer. The cost, $900+.

Do any of you use a system other than Lojack? If so, what system and please give your opinion of it and the price.

Thank you.

These cars are pretty hard to steal now a days that its really, imo, not worth the money. A second thing I think about all the time is if somebody is really determined to steal a car, they are going to do it no matter what kind of device/s you have.

Yes, but a hidden tracking system may make recovery faster and easier and help break up car theft rings, etc. ... I have a post on this info. I will find it and link it in here.

I feel safe enough at night to sleep comfortable with the factory immobilizer and a fuel pump switch that I installed last year. And the fact that my car parks right outside my bedroom window, if I were to ever hear the alarm I would really feel bad for the theif!

I lived inside Chicago for 20 years and had 2 cars stolen. If my M is stolen I don't want it found for 30 days!!! Not because I don't love my M but because I do. You think that thief is taking care of it while he's just driving around? Believe me it'll never be the same car.By the way, 1 was stripped & totaled the other was found crossing into Mexico 31 days later (saw pictures, glad I didn't get it back).

Just my thoughts.

That works well for sure. It is very commonly used in other countries.
