So, I got the car all together and semi running other then some TPS issues which will probably be in another thread... Regardless I need to put the sender somewhere it can be grounded without bootlegging (fitting in a hose thats grounded) So I have to tap somewhere... My queston is... can one of these two be moved? It looks like the red is the stock sender and the other may just be a ground.... but that wouldnt seem right being that there is a ground right next to the two tapped holes.....

Heres a pic for reference...

Oh and if you are wondering why stock guages arent being used its because its in a 74 Z with a custom dash so they done exist....

TIA!-E

Single terminal sensor is for the dash gauge. The Red is for the ecu temp. Remove the single.

Can I just use the stock sender for the autometer? Cause its a wider guaged hole for the stock sender

no

the autometer gauge needs the autometer sender. if you cant put it on your new manifold, get an inline hose adapter. heres mine

the blue thing on the upper hose.

mine is a greddy, most local tuner shops should have them. i had to re-tap it for the autometer sender tho because its a standard fitting and the adapter is in metric.

so does it have to be grounded to an external source? Or it sits good as it is

It should be grounded to work properly.

the autometer WILL need to be grounded. i found a spring clamp that fit over the sender then just attached a wire with a female spade connector. works fine

Funny you should ask. I just went out and measured my stock S14 radiator inlet and fit the stock RB25 hose so it should work. The diameter was 35mm, but I bought a 34mm adapter yesterday off of ebay. $26 shipped.

I went to a hydraulic shop in town and got a barbed hose to hose fitting and had a friend weld the bung that came with my sensor in. works perfect cost like 10 bucks
