autometer tach question

ok so i have an autometer tach but it is set up for the 4-banger eninge so how can i sent it up for the 6?

You gotta get one specifically for a 6 cylinder or with a switch for 4,6, or 8. Time for ebay.

NO ITS NOT A SWITCH SETUP. AUTO METTERS USE A WIRE RESISTOR SETUP. DO YOU HAVE THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL? BECAUSE IN THE BACK OF THE TACH THERE SHOULD BE WIRE LOOPS LIKE GREEN, PURPLE, AND WHITE WHICH ARE MOST COMMON AND YOU NEED TO SNIP ONE OR TWO OF THESE FOR THE CORRECT RESISTENCE TO READ ACURATELY.

connect the two brown wires in the back for six cylinder just connect them to each other.
