Okay, so I'm installing a Auto Meter narrow band air fuel ratio gauge. I read DUFFMANS post but he didn't know where to run the white wire. Essentially the gauge comes with a Purple/Violet wire that goes to the O2 sensor, a Black wire for ground, a red wire for a 12V source, and a white wire that is supposed to be linked to 12V dash lighting. Also, not to be offensive to duffman, but I dont want to hook my power source to the radio wire.

So where is a good 12V source that turns of with the ignition switch? And where would I tap into 12V dash lighting?

also I am mounting my gauge with a pod, not on the dash.

For my boost controller and gauges, I tapped into power from the big red wire on the ignition switch under the steering column and the red wire on the cigarette lighter harness under the center console.

Cool thanks positron, that helps a lot.Anyone know where to get power source for the white wire(Dash lighting)?

Or know the color of the wire coming from the ECU for the O2 sensor? The factory manual only said it was connector F17 but didn"t specify a wire color.

Did you find F17 in the car? Generally when no colors are listed, its because its only a 2 wire connector, hot and ground. If you've got diagrams handy, you can pretty much splice the white anywhere into the dimmer switch circuit for any of your dash components, if its labeled that way. It uses the common ground for the gauge. Remember to test with your DVOM before splicing.

Well yeah I found the connector, its the O2 sensor wire. I just wanted to splice the gauge into the ECU wire inside the car so I didn't have to go through the firewall to hook it up.

So I can just tap the wire coming from the dimmer switch for the white wire then?

Yep, you should be able to tap the white into any of your accessory dimmer circuits.

As for that F17, I read the question wrong. You'll want to go thru the firewall and tap into the line off the O2 sensor for that. Generally you want to avoid tapping in ECU-side. The engine computer tends to be pretty sensitive in terms of spike voltages and ohms, no sense in taking a chance frying it. There should be plenty of space near the fuse panel where the wires from it run out into the engine bay. If you've got to drill, remember to use a grommet or seal the hole with silicone or something, or it'll eventually start to rust.
