Hi, quick question. After the cold hit which was about 10 to 20 F. MY driver side window doesnt automatically go up anymore. It goes down on its own, but not up anymore and when it goes up it gets stuck on about 1/4 of the way the I have to kinda either wait for a long time or pull it myself. Any suggestions?

Try the reset:

Quote »This is a very common problem with a very simple fix. This is caused by disconnecting the battery so if after you install a new head unit and your window wont roll up automatically there isn't a problem. To fix roll your window down all the way, then hold the up button letting the window reach the top, but don't let go continue holding for 10 more seconds. Roll the window down and test if it rolls up automatically, if not try again. [/quote]

Not sure about the reset. Didn't know we had one. I have had a similar problem, but it happens when I disconnect the battery to do electrical work. It usually takes about 2 weeks to reset on its own, but the dealership told me they can do it as well with the computer. Also they told me that it is covered under the warranty when it happens. Hope that helps

The reset procedure works, put it all the way down and then hold it while it goes up and continue holding for an extra 10 seconds. I did it while I reset it while on the freeway. No problems since

Yes, the reset works and usually loss of power is the reason for the window up to stop working.

And you live in Statesville, I'm sorry. (Grew up around there)

Ouch. Probably went to that bad HS of Statesville as well. Had to say it as I went to North.

Here is an entirely different possibility: The cold created ice in the window track or on the mechanism. There is a sensitive switch built into the up mechanism to prevent a child or an adult moron from getting chocked or otherwise harmed by a rising window. ("Damn! I forgot to move my head!") If this is the case heat from a warm garage or a hair dryer can melt the ice and eliminate the resistance that is causing the safety switch to throw.

Wow, we were in the same HS for a year then. Apparently I was a Soph when you were there for your Freshman year.
