Hello people. I am really interested in finding a solution for the trunk of the car to make it open/close automatically.
Is there a known solution for this ?
THanks

I'd really like a solution to this, too.

I asked in 2015 (post6667612.html), and I gave up on this. The trunk lid hinges & its gas struts (https://imgur.com/a/GBpM9) do not apply enough force to lift the trunk lid. They have just enough strength to hold open the lid. A stronger strut does not seem to work. Its attachment point doesn't apply force in the UP-ward direction (from a closed lid position), which would be required to LIFT the lid.

I couldn't figure out any easy way to alter the factory hinge to make that happen. Other cars have big springs to twist the hinges. But the M56 has hinge brackets tucked entirely within the trunk lip groove, and they don't extend into the trunk cavity, at all. This compact design limits choices. How to apply a large (25 lb) upward force in such a tiny confined space? Let me know if you solve this puzzle?

I have just stubled upon a company that gives a solution to this problem. Check this out: https://www.che1.com and https://www.autoease.com/
The infiniti 2014 q70 is on the list so I guess it would fit m56 also. I am currently having a conversation with their representative to be sure that this would fit the vehicle. The price is 499$.
Let me know what you think

I suspect this might be more intricate than a plug-n-play convenience. You would probably need to remove the existing hinges since physics prevents them from lifting the lid from where they are mounted. That will involve determining the proper attachment points, the length and angle of the struts, balancing and aligning the lid, and allowing the the lid to close with enough force to engage the lock down. These things are not easily done in one's home garage. If my car came with it, I'd fancy it but I only open my trunk when I'm cleaning my car so this feature is not something I miss.

Not sure about the auto open but on the JDM version of the M/Q there was an option on the Fuga for an auto trunk closer. I'm sure if someone took the time to research the JDM parts they could source the mechanism or see if these were available on other domestic versions and could simply be retrofitted.

I've noticed and was wondering wtf the auto trunk closure package was. I couldn't find any info on it, and idk the what the full list of parts are, but here's a part

you might need to manually select the trim: 2012, 2wd w/hicas, sports tech grade.
