Post

Hi, new to the forum here and new to the Nissan S cars. Been a hardcore honda guy for a long time now.

Anyway, on to my question.

Just acquired a '90 240SX Fastback with a single cam KA, fresh motor, but I'm having some trans issues.

It will lock in park, but no movement in reverse, drive, 2, or 1.
Fluid looks great, no odd smells, no noises, nothing. Just no drive.

Could this possibly be an electrical problem, like a hydraulic pump or a solenoid not pushing fluid, or is the trans more than likely shot?
Not too familiar with automatics, just looking for some insight before I go spend a ton of money on a new gearbox.

Thanks!

Sounds like transmission is toast. They are very cheap and usually free from those that have done 5 speed swaps.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply!

The more that I mess with the car, the more i'm starting to think the same thing.
But it has other electrical issues, so I haven't completely ruled that out.
