is it a wise idea to have my transmission fluid and coolant changed by my personal mechanic or should i take it to infiniti so that they can do it. it's for my 03 g sedan, and this is the first time it would be done. i dont mind buying the products from the dealer and having my guy do it (to save on cost) but is this a wise idea for a few bucks? and any idea what the dealer would charge for such a job?

I guess it depends on the competency of your personal mechanic. Should be nothing that exotic for a good one.Another option is a Nissan dealership which might be a little cheaper than your Infiniti dealer for the same job.

if you are gonna do a transmission flush you HAVE to have the nissan fluid...any other transmission fluid will damage the transmission
