automatic transmission stalled

I was going up the mountain yesterday. When I tried to make a U-turn, from R to D, my car stalled and it rolls back and crashes to the wall of the mountain. Nothing serious, but only some scratches and a dent. But, An automatic transmission car stalled. Not so much of that happened in nowadays. I couldn't have prevent that because my car was so close to the wall before the car stalled and rolled back. The engine check light was on and everything was on and the engine stopped. I stepped on gas and thought that would help the car moving forward when I shifted from R to D because it usually moved back a little after you shifted to D. Sigh

Sorry to hear about your mishap. When shifting gears with any auto, there usually is a slight delay before the car shifts into gear.
