automatic transmission power switch

Car: 94 nissan pathfinder

on my 94 pathfinder...the a/t power switch seems to work in both modesbut doesnt flash when the car is started or the test mode procedure is done........the switch is pretty new and i was wondering if this is commonor if someone knows what the solution is.
