Sorry guys, I have another question.
I had my automatic transmission in my 300zx reconditioned about a year ago. It has a good amount of oil as I check regularly and I don’t have enough money to swap in a manual just yet. The transmission fluid temperature sensor reads an alarming 105c when driving after a while (221f) but it doesn’t seem as if the transmission is overheating.

This morning it was 74f degrees outside and BEFORE the car was turned on I turned the cars ECU on and checked the temp sensors for both the engine and transmission. The engine was reading about 78f and the transmission was reading 93f with the fluid temp sensors voltage being 2.92v. This seems very wrong to me. The car wasn’t started since the day before and the ambient temp was much lower. There is no reason it would be that hot, and the voltage according to the manual should be between “0.5-1.5.” Mine is clearly not within that range. My transmission has some symptoms of a bad fluid temp sensor. Does this seem like the sensor is bad?
IF SO where do I find one and is it relatively easily replaceable?
I can’t find one online.
Thanks!

Temp sensor for ATX may well be a dealer only part.

I can’t find anything in the manual about what symptoms it may cause. Does the 300zx use the A/T Fluid Temp Sensor for anything? If it goes bad and gives the computer a bad reading will it cause any issues or is it just there for mechanics to diagnose issues? I’m trying to figure out if it’s worth replacing or not.
