It's in the FSM somewhere. Something like 5-7 quarts 100% capacity (don't quote me on that). If you do a drain and fill, it's usually only like 3 quarts or so.

thanks for the help, but i checked at my work on MitchellOnDemand, its saying 7.90 quarts of Dexron II, thats probably with the torque converter also, but im getting a junkyard transmission to put in my car to get it sold, ill just go with the flow and check it after 6 quarts or so... thanks though

The 7.9 quart spec includes the pan and converter. The pan itself only holds about 2 of that.
Any Dexron (you wont find II or anything earlier than that, you will find III or VI or whatever) will work. Or a Dexron/Mercon V spec (they are almost the same thing so they get labled that way). Most "multi vehicle" fluids meet the spec.

I know this is a old post but im just putting it on the net for future people.
According to a spec sheet, it was 8.3 quarts of ATF including the tourqe converter. and if you dont drain the TC just the fluid thats just dumb cuz your leaving almost 5 quarts of dirty fluid in the transmission to mix with.
