My automatic tansmission on my 89 nissan 240sx will not shift out of 1st. Hits 5000 rpms at 30 mph. I ran a self diag on the trans to nissan repair manual specs. Pulled a code for a revolution sensor. Sensor Tests out find. But the specs say if the sensors test out there is no problem to run sef diag again. But still won't shift.

the revolution sensor may be what the tcm is using to determine engine speed and when to shift gears. maybe its a harness issue. have you done a conversion?

every thing is stock ecept for the exhuast(N1 apexi cat-back). I put a new revolution sensor, and replace the tcm. No conversions yet! I went to the dealer and one of the old tech's told me to test the dropping resistor. so I look up the specs on how to test it. test out fine.
