Automatic Trans Problems

I have a 1990 240sx and the transmission has a few problems. First of all, it shifts hard from first into second. Second, whenever I come off the brake or even just leave off the gas to make a turn, when I press the gas again, the transmission takes a few seconds to go in. Its as if I'm in neutral for a few seconds. Please help.

did you check your transmission fluid?i would recomend a transmission flush and filter change

pull the dipstick out located on the backleft part of the engine and look at the fluid to see if its low. It shouldn't be low unless you are leaking somewhere. The fluid should be a reddish color, also smell the fluid to see if it smells burnt. Like stated above, you might wanna take it in and have the transmission flushed and filter changed.
