I have the 89 auto and it is acting a little strange. When in drive or reverse and sitting still it kinda shimmies. Like it is over engaging and appling too much power. I believe it shifts fine when driving, but when you come to a stop the problem starts. I tried putting it in neutral when at a light, but that only causes the worst of the secondary problem...it stalls. When at a light there is a 40% chance itll just stall. After having it do this for a couple of times I changed the transmission fluid and their was no change. It just seems to be progressively worse. Doing it more and more now . The fluid change did nothing to improve the problem.

Could it be the tps. Ive heard that is a big problem if the tps is bad. What else could it be any help would be appreciated

It's not the tps. I have the exact same problem with a brand new tps. I'll let you know when I figure out. I'm swapping to a manual transmission in a couple weeks so I'm going to try to not let it bother me until then. With a bad tps though, the transmission will shift too late and too early.

Well there is nothing I hate more than my freakin girlfriend trying to explain a problem to me. The only thing I noticed when i drove it was the stuttering at a dead stop in drive. I didnt notice any funny shifting. Thanks for replying though.
