automatic transmission problem

Most of the time the transmission is normal, but sometimes, when i'm going from first to second gear, my transmission doesn't switch and the car gets stuck on first. SOmetimes I just have to stop the car and start it again or let go of the gas and then press it again to see if it changes. Is it just a problem of transmission fluid, and if so some people tell me that the fluid i have to place is Dexron III, but some people sat Dexron II. Can anyone help me with this?

its a 93 hatchback with 180,000 miles

oohh and its a ka24de, everything is stock right now.

when did you start noticing this, and is it in drive when it hapens or are you putting it in 1st, 2nd, ect...

i started noticing that about 3 months ago, the car is in drive but when the gears shift from first instead of the rpm coming back down and starting to rise up again it just gets stuck

When my 240 was shifting hard from 1st to second it turned out to be the cig. lighter fuse. Sounds weird, but it was blown and the transmission shop is the one that told me to check it. So you might want to take a peak at that.
