93 240sx SE Automatic

Symptoms:

-O.D. button used to work great, now it just mildly pulses the revs.

-Seems like it shifts harder.

-When I floor it going highway speeds, it seems to miss the downshift gear entirely and the revs fly as if it was in neutral. I have to let off and let it find the gear again. Does not occur under smooth acceleration or at <65.

-I have a mysterious high coolant temperature problem which comes and goes (I've heard could be related to tranny problems).

The fluid level is fine. Other that the forementioned problems it seems to work well. The car is very driveable, I just have to be aware. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you got an internal clutch slippage problem. Suggest taking it to a good and well known A/T shop.
