Hi everyone, I'm new here, and I haven't been able to find much information yet. I say the Automatic to Manual conversion guide in the installs section, and I was wondering if the information in that guide is accurate for all 240 sx models. Does it matter whether you have DOHC or SOHC, year, se or le, or any other factor?

I have never tried anything like this before, and I want to make sure that I do everything right. I have a 91 240 sx se with factory standard on everything, I think. I want to make sure I get all of the parts that I am going to need before I start.

Any help would be appreciated, and thanks in advance.

We have had quite a few discussions on this in the various section in the past month alone. I know because I was involved in them :)

I have been looking around on the site, and I was wondering how to tell what type of car it is(s13, s14, s15). I think my 91 would be s13, but I'm not sure. My question is: if I have an s13, will the s14 5 speed swap work on my car? I haven't been able to find any information on that anywhere. Thanks for your help.

Yes s13 and s14 trannies swap out. You will still need the other stuff though like pedals MC lines ecu driveshaft and all that jazz. I do knot know what can be inter-swapped, if any thing (well fly wheel and clutch can) but you would be hard pressed to find an s14 donor for those thing over an s13 though. I think I have a 7:1 ratio of s13's to s14's I have found in the yards I frequent over the years.

Definately things like ecu, driveshaft, and possibly mounts will need to be chassis specific.

Another note IIRC sohc and dohc trannies are the same as well. Dont quote me on that but it comes to mind.

Oh and the faq explain the model years, but... 89-90 s13 sohc, 91-94 s13 dohc (94 being vert and auto only), 95 - 96 s14b (before) and 97-98 s14a (after) also known as s14mc.
