My car was an automatic RB20DET and I converted it to manual. My question is that, is there a difference between the automatic ECU's and the Manual ECU's. The current problem Iam experiencing since the conversion is at top end (4th gear) it does not cross 6500rpm.

WOW!! i am having that same problem with my converted rb20det!!

I tried a manual ecu and it does make a noticeable difference. the car plain out drives smoother and a little faster, but it still had the problem above 6500 rpm.on my car, it feels hella fast, but as soon as you hit 6500, the car feels like it gives up, so you shift and your back into power. its like that on all my gears. i am getting a mines ecu and am hoping that helps......but i feel your pain. keep me posted if you figure it out, i will do the same.

Hey, I solved my problem. It was the injectors. They seemed to be really dirty. I shift at 7000rpm with my automatic ECU and everything works great. But I would still like to try a manual ECU and feel the difference form myself. Good Luck.

new z32 fuel filter fixed it for me.........and yes, the manual ecu is well worth investing in.
