Alright guys, this is my first post on this board as you can tell :). Well I've got a 1989 240sx, stock. It has an automatic transmission and everything runs strong, despite the 194k. Well when I step on the gas and the engine gets up to about 2200rpms the shifter starts to vibrate and make this annoying loud squeeking noise. The windshield area just above it isn't sealed 100% so when it really comes down the shifter gets a few drops of water on it, but I dont know if this may be causing it. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks guys!

Chris

that noise is probably your convertor being filled with crud from age.Do a transmission flush and see if this fixes it :)

I just read on another post that it may be the shifter bushings?
